The Boston College Eagles undefeated season was short lived Friday night as the Eagles fell 14-0 to Florida State. Both defenses were stellar but in the end it was the Seminoles who walked away victorius. The Eagles held the Seminoles scoreless for the first fifty minutes of the game.
BC then took over but Seminole defensive back Jalen Ramsey scopped up a BC fumble and ran it into the endzone.Florida States head coach Jimbo Fisher was pleased with his teams defensive performance but had concerns regarding his offense. Fisher stated that to many balls were dropped and the inexperience of the offensive line showed. The Seminoles got a great performance from defensive back Jalen Ramsey.
BC however had no punch offensively as the Seminoles defense shutdown the Eagles passing and running game. The Eagles still got decent performance from tailback Tyler Rouse. The Eagles couldn’t do anything with the air attack.
The 2-1 Eagles next opponent the Huskies of Northern Illinois Saturday in Chestnut Hill. The Huskies are also noted for a strong defense as they fell to Ohio State last week 20-13. Head coach Rod Carey’s Huskies gave the Buckeyes all they could handle.
BC will definitely have it’s work cut out for them this weekend. The Eagles need a complete game from all areas of the club offense, defense and special teams if the Eagles want to come away with a win. The Eagles now have a quarterback issue facing the team sophomore signal caller Darius Wade went down with a broken ankle Saturday and will miss the remainder of the season. The Eagles have freshman Jeff Smith and Troy Flutie in reserve.
