The New England Patriots will get their first of two looks against the highly rated Buffalo Bills . The Bills are receiving a lot of hype from ESPN after it’s 27-14 win over the Colts last week. The Bills are one of few teams expected two challenge the Super Bowl Champs. Both teams have great defenses, great coaching but the edge has to go to the Patriots simply because of future Hall of Famer Tom Brady.
The Bills are blessed with a young energetic quarterback in Tyrod Taylor. Taylor had a monsterous season opener last week against the highly respected Indianapolis Colts. The Bills performance Sunday was ranked ninth by ESPN power rankings. The Bills haven’t been in a playoff game since 1999 since then the Patriots have won 14 division titles six conference championships and four super bowls.
The great thing about this game Sunday is it’s going to be coached by two great coaches. Ryan brings energy and persona to a team who was resurrected last year as Buffalo came on strong finishing 9-7 Buffalo’s strength is obviously its defense notably the pass rush. Buffalo will have a healthy Marcell Darius back as well as a healthy Aaron Williams. Not to mention Jerry Hughes and Kyle Williams.
But the surprise of Buffalos team is it’s quarterback Tyrod Taylor. Taylor had a great pre season edging out last years starter EJ Manuel and off season pickup Matt Cassel. The Bills also have a strong run game in free agent signing Leshaun McCoy. McCoy ‘s signing meant the release of long time Bill nine year veteran Fred Jackson. Jackson had some of his best games in his nine year Bill career against the Pats.
For New England this is a crucial early season game. A Buffalo win could really fuel Buffalo’s momentum going forward. New England was dominant last week in it’s 28-24 win over the Steelers. With a healthy Gronkowski and the duo of Bill Belichick and Tom Brady the Patriots are still the team to beat in the AFC.
