Belichick and Company Ready to Get Back to Work

Wednesday July 31st is the first day of training camp for the Patriots and NFL teams. The 2015 Super Bowl champs begin their quest for super bowl number five. Wednesday is the first day of practice for both veterans and rookies. Weather despite the deflate gate issue  it will   be business as usual in Foxborough.

The quest for Super Bowl number five won’t be easy. Teams in the grueling NFL  only got better by adding and deducting players through the draft and free agency. In the AFC east for example where the Patriots have dominated for twelve years the competition got pretty stiff. Buffalo is probably the team that could challenge the Pats for first place and possibly a shot at the AFC wild card. The Bills signed former Jet head coach Rex Ryan. Ryan signed a multi year deal in hopes of taking the 9-7 Bills to the next level. Buffalos defense is one of the best in the NFC . On offense the Bills have one of the best young receivers in the league in Sammy Wadkins. Wadkins will have help on the other side with the signing of receiver Percy Harvin. Harvin and Wadkins   will be one of the potent receiving combinations in the league. Also the Bills signed ex Chief and Patriot quarterback Matt Cassell to add depth in case injury to EJ Manuel. The Dolphins on the other hand are also not a team to be taken lightly. The 8-8 Dolphins were busy this off season by signing former Lion All Pro Ndamukong Suh to bolster the defensive line. On offense the Dolphins added exBronco Knowshon Moreno to to the back fieldand signed wide receiver Kenny Stills to the mix.Quarterback Ryan Tannehill is getting betting each year. Miamis main concern is the health of offensive lineman Brandon Alberts. Alberts has missed several games the past couple f seasons due to injury. This brings us to the Jets The 4-12 Jets got better by signing ex Pat and All Pro corner Darrelle Revis. Revis made the Pats Defensive backfield  very intimidating to NFL quarterbacks. Revis one of the main reasons the Pats went to the Super Bowl; Revis will team up with opposite corner Warren Cromartie to make the Jets a serious threat to qualify for a wild card shot. The Jets only issue is at quarterback where Geno Smith is not fully proven. If Smith fails veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick can fill in. Sources from the Jets say its Smiths job to lose  how he performs is up to him.

The Patriots however also got better. Despite what happens with the deflate gate issue and the quarterback situation he Pats are in decent shape. The Pats defense despite the loss of Revis is still one of the best in football.Number onedraft pick Malcom Brown out of Texas is expected to fill in for the departed Vince WilforkKicker Stephen Gostowski signed a long term deal. Gostowskis booming kickoffs and clutch kicks make him one of the best in the game. If tight end Rob Gronkowski can stay healthy and the outcome of  deflate gate theirs  no reason the Pats can return to the Super Bowl.
