With all the craziness this week regarding the embarrassing deflate-gate issue we the fan have reached a verdict, the NFL is the guilty one. Reason number one the so called trained referee’s did not act promptly. If the ref’s are trained and schooled properly it should of been noticed long before it was announced it was deflated. Every NFL quarterback is coming out and defending Brady or may be with the exception of a few Even if Tom Brady did soften up the balls it shouldn’t of taken a whole first half to discover it.
This leads us to the question of leadership. Like the Adrian Peterson and Ray Rice fiasco”s this is no different. The NFL had plenty of time to view those security videos. But what did they do?they let it drag on till the media got wind of it and had a field day. This is no different. Thirty minutes is thirty minutes. It’s not the idea that the balls were properly inspected before theissue is competence.Granted the weather was abnormal for January fifty two degrees. The weather maybe the result of the so called softening of the balls. That lead us to another question if the weather was fifty two degrees and raining the quarterback has time to dry his hands after their set of downs are over.
This is where effective and critical leadership come into play. Unlike the Rice and Peterson cases where human life is in danger innocent people are also the victims. Special team players who work hard and don’t get recognized for their efforts are hurt. The hard working season ticket holder is hurt. Even if Goodell came out and made a decision at least a decision was made. Having a decision linger on till after the super bowl will just cause more damage. That’s when the ugly truth will really come out. One thing is for sure you can bet season ticket holders will cancel after this damaging experience.
