Young River Hawks Men’s Hoop Squad Travel to Orono

                          The U Mass men’s River Hawks hoop squad travel to Orono, Maine to begin a two game road trip followed by a trip to Hartford, Ct.  The road is always a  good test for any team especially a young team. It gives a team time to develop chemistry and trust in one another. This years Hawks are made up of mostly freshman and sophmores and only one senior. Head coach Pat Duquette has his young  River Hawks currently 8-8  and third place in America east.They’re 500 at home eand on the road with four wins apiece                                                                                                                                                                     Overall the Hawks are  averaging 61.4 points per game while opponents are scoring 69.2 points per game. On the rebounding side the Hawks are snagging 31.4 boards per game while the opposition  grabbing 36.4 boards per game. The Hawks have at total of 1718 points  and are being outscored by their opponents with a total of1938 points thus far this season..For the most part it’s typical numbers for a young team gelling to get to know one another     and learning how to win at a high level.                                                                                                                                                                                                           Head coach Pat Duqette certainly has his challenges ahead of him. But being so young theirs know reason that this team should a first place teams The America east division is one of the most competitive in the country. With an excellent head coach and staff  keep an eye on this upcoming young club.
