Are the Bruins Beginning to Settle for Mediocrity

With a 15-13 record and a sixth place showing in the NHL east the the Bruins seem like a team with no life or identity. With a mere 33 point showing thus far this season the Bruins seem to lack directionand purpose rather than a team who lost in the Stanley cup finales two years ago to the Black Hawks. Since the return of defensemanZedeno  Chara Bruins have gone 1-6 and seem like a team struggling to make the playoffs rather than a team who normally dominates the conference. The Bruins had lifeless west coast trip only to fall to the Nashville Predators 3-2 Tuesday. The Bruins hope to rebound Wednesday with a match against the first place Lightning.                                                                                                                              Lack of scoring and power play goals have been one of the reasons the Bruins haven’t been winning. The other reason has been an injured David Krejci. Krejci who has seen limited duty so far this season needs to get healthy and back into form if the Bruins have any chance of seeing post season. With only 21/2 goals per game general manager Peter Chiarelli has no choice but to work the phones. But any major deal seems unlikely. The Bruins are up against the cap and have no money to spend. The Bruins best chance of turning this season around is for Krejci to get healthy and productive. With a healthy Kerjci and Bergeron the Bruins are one of the most feared teams in the league.
