Almost a quarter of the way through the 2014/15 season and time on their side its time for the Bruins to make to decisions. One is how to improve the defense. With Zedeno Chara, Dave Warsofsky,Kevan Miller and Johnny Boychuck an Islander the Bruins need to come to terms with themselves and see who will be key contributors come playoff time. This decision must come from president Cam Neely. The Bruins don’t have any immidiate help in Providence who can fill in and contribute immediately. Neely must ask the question where is the talent? Other than goaltender Malcom Subban the teams number one draft pick two years ago their is no help. This falls on GM Peter Chirarelli. The Bruins have no one on the current roster who they drafted other than forward David Krejic and Doug Hamilton who they can say were drafted by Chiarelli. This is the question Neely must ask himself.Records other than making the playoffs as we have seen last year mean nothing. Its the team with an identity and talent that blends together that produces championships. Zedeno Chara is 38, Seidenberg is playing solid hockey because hes healthy. That leaves Doug Hamilton 21 who’s been having an excellent season so far. The drafting has been terrible. Neely must be careful if the trend continues the Bruins may or may not see the finales for a very long time.
