The Johnny Boychuck era has come to an end in Boston. Yesterday GM Peter Charelli sent Boychuck To the New York Islanders in exchange for a 2015 and 2016 second round draft pick and a conditional 2016 third round pick. The deal ends a five year career in Boston in which Boychuck was a restricted free agent after this season. In seventy five games last season Boychuck had five goals and eighteen assist. In seven NHL seasons Boychuck has nineteen goals and fifty nine assists. Boychuck was hoping to sign a long term deal with the Bruins after this season but that will not be the case. The Bruins recently signed defenseman Torrey Krug to a multi year contract. Also 2nd year man Kevin Miller is fighting for full time duty.
