Future hall of fame quarterback Tom Brady started the game for the Pats throwing for eighty one yards. He also threw for an interception and completed a touchdown pass to second year receiver Kenbrell Thompkins.Brady then gave way to rookie Jimmy Garoppollo. Garoppolos first touchdown pass was a fifteen yarder to fullback James Devlin. Then half way through the second quarter Garoppolo tossed a four yard pass to Brandon LaFell for 21-7 lead.Garoppolo was taken out of the game at the end of the second half. Fourth year backup Ryan Mallett opend up the third quarter . Mallett improved his trade value by completing 7of 11 passes for 91 yards. He also threw for one touchdown. The next two weeks should prove to be very interesting for head coach Bill Belichick and his coaching staff.Histoically the Patriots keep two quarterbacks but this pre season should be interesting if Mallett can put up the numbers. One area of concern has to be the running back department has Stevan Ridley fumbled the football but luckily recovered the ball. You can rest assured that Belichick and his coaching staff will be doing what they do best manipulating the 53 man roster.
